In March/April 2007 I went to West Africa for 6 weeks. I visited Morocco, Senegal, The Gambia and Mali. I started by myself in Morocco, then flew to Dakar and met Klaus, a friend of mine. We traveled around Senegal a bit before going overland in The Gambia. From there we went back to Dakar, Klaus flew back home and I flew to Bamako in Mali by myself and traveled around there. From Bamako I flew back to Morocco then flew back home. Mali is an extremely diverse, amazing country. Sometime in the next couple of years I plan on going to the January Festival au Désert in Timbuktu, I want to do it by boat from Mopti then continue into Niger.
